Deputy Nicolas Blane Dixon, 28, of Gainesville passed away Monday, July 8, 2019 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Born on February 26, 1991 Deputy Dixon was the son of Fred Dixon III and Jada Riley Dixon of Gainesville.
Blane was a deputy with the Hall County Sheriff Office for three years and of the Baptist faith.
Dixon was among several deputies in pursuit of a stolen vehicle. “He was out there in the darkness while most of us slept comfortably,” Hall Sheriff Gerald Couch said of Dixon, the second law enforcement officer shot and killed in the line of duty in Georgia this year.
He leaves behind a wife, Stephanie, and two young sons: Caden, 9, and 3-month-old Colton Justice.
