HERO Officer Clint Martin

Sergeant Clinton A. Martin, Sr. was born October 9, 1978 in Tacoma, Washington. His parents are Gordon Ray Martin, Sr. and Annie Marie (Lewis) Martin. Clinton (known by many as “Clint”) grew up in a traditional military family and graduated from Kadena High School, Okinawa, Japan, in 1997. Immediately following high school, Clinton enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he honorably served his country from 1997 to 2002 and obtained the rank of Sergeant. Clinton acquired a Bachelor’s degree in in Criminal Justice from Chattahoochee Technical College in 2009. 

Clinton married his wife, Maria Ibanez, on June 8, 2008 in Marietta, GA. To their union are three beautiful children, Roselyn, Clinton, Jr. and Leah. Clinton was employed as a Police Officer for Kennesaw State University for 3 years prior to joining the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety in 2009. Clinton’s career with Alpharetta included Road Patrol, SWAT Negotiator, Field Training Officer and recently being promoted to Sergeant. While employed with Alpharetta, Clinton received numerous commendations from citizens and from his department, as well as a Chief’s Coin in 2020. 

Clinton is survived by his wife Maria Martin; their three children, Roselyn Martin, Clinton Martin, Jr. and Leah Martin; his parents, Gordon Sr. and Annie Martin; his siblings Tamika Anthony-Obi, Gordon Ray Martin, Jr., Andre L. Martin, Geordon R. Martin, Ernest Pullom, Antonio Martin, and Leonard Pullom, and a host of in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, friends and coworkers.
