Pierce Richardson, Dec 1, 1942 – August 31, 2017

Pierce was raised in Rockdale County by his father and mother, Roy and Ruth Richardson. He graduated from Rockdale County High School in 1960. Peirce lived Covington, Ga. with his wife of 56 years, Nanelle Richardson.Their family, Cindy, Ronald and Robin Richardson also reside in Covington with their grandchildren. In addition to being involved in soccer on the national level, he has coached his son’s team at the South Dekalb YMCA until his son was 19 and coached his grandson from 2000 – 2006. On August 5, 2006, Pierce Richardson was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in Oneonta, N.Y. He is the first native-born Georgian to be installed into the National Soccer Hall of Fame.
